The Long Hill Baseball Team
By 1913, Parlor Rock Amusement Park was gone, but the park's baseball fields were still
in use. Pictured here is Long Hill's 1913 Parlor Rock baseball team that included Leo Gabler
and Charles Randall.
Conveniently located near the train station on Whitney Avenue, challengers from all over
traveled to Long Hill to face these fierce Yankees. Their uniforms have the words "Long Hill"
printed on them, except for a player in center of the back row whose shirt has "Mascot" printed
on it!
1989 Little League World Series Champions
In 1989, Little League
Baseball celebrated its 50th Anniversary. In the same year, Trumbull, Connecticut's National
Little League Team became the first team from the
United States to win the World Series since 1983. A remarkable feat, against all odds, Trumbull,
a town of 32,000, won the 1989 Little League World Series
beating heavy favorite Taipei, Taiwan in the final game by a score of 5-2.
The players and coaches in the photo are:
