Two documents from "Colonial and Revolutionary War" Governor Jonathan Trumbull documents were scanned
and E-mailed to the Trumbull Historical Society for
display on our internet web site. The owner of these documents wishes to remain anonymous.
These documents are displayed for those interested in Trumbull family history and
Revolutionary War ephemera. The documents are quite interesting. Both are from Jonathan Trumbull, both are addressed to Thomas Hollister, and both appoint him to the rank of lieutenant. The first document (1775) in King George's army and the second (1777) in the Revolutionary army. Transcriptions of both documents are provide with the images. |

| Notice in these documents how sometimes the letter "f" is apparently used where there should be an "s." This is because they contain the once fashionable "Long S" character.
