From Leading Hidden Identities to Growing Communities
This exhibit is the result of a collaborative effort between Central CT State University and the Connecticut Museum of History and Culture (formerly known as the CT Historical Society).

Throughout its history, Connecticut’s LGBTQ population has moved from leading hidden, solitary lives to becoming a more visible and valued part of society.
Featuring eight striking panels, the exhibit explores this journey, illustrating stories of oppression and resilience, tragedy and triumph.  It presents a timeline that spans from the colonial days to more modern times.

Jo's World: The Everyday Life of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women
“Gloves are more important than anything else; you can’t dance without them,” Meg March advised her sister Jo as they dressed for a ball in Louisa May Alcott’s “Little Women.”
Throughout the exhibit, quotes from the classic novel, "Little Women," are displayed alongside artifacts from the Society's collection that reflect the daily life of the March family.
Jo, Meg, Amy, or Beth -  which March sister do you identify with?
