We are always looking for help, whether it's an hour here and there or something more substantial. Following are some current volunteer openings:
UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
THURSDAY, JULY 4th Children's Activities at the Reading of the Declaration of Independence
Event Description:
An annual event held by the town features members of the We The People Team and town residents each taking part in reading the Declaration of Independence. After this historic portrayal, we offer children's activities in the gazebo. related to colonial times.
How you can help:
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Setting up the activities.
10:00 - 11:00 Town reading - if you would like to read one of the sentences from the declaration, we can contact the town on your behalf.
11:-00- 12:00 Help with children's crafts, colonial games, and artifacts/props table.
12:00 - 12:30 Packing up
SUNDAY, JULY 21st 1:00 -4:00 pm Ice Cream Social
Event Description:
Our annual event is open to the public and we serve free ice cream! Guests can view the exhibits inside the museum. Outside activities include games for the family.
How you can help:
Pre-event:
Assist with set up, on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
Help with setting up a new exhibit which will be about Parlor Rock.
During Event:
Take a shift serving ice cream or assisting with toppings.
Be stationed at one of the games to help with rules and ensure kids are playing nicely.
Greet guests as they arrive.
Help with merchandise sales.

GENERAL INFO:
Docents:
Docents are volunteers who are trained to lead visitors through our collections. Docents engage students through lively, interactive discussion, and a hands-on approach to learning. We offer tours of the museum every first and third Sunday, as well as to various Scout and school groups. Tours usually involve a two hour time commitment.
Handyman:
Are you good with your hands? Love working on small projects? We can always use help hanging pictures, changing light bulbs, fixing things.
Events:
We have events throughout the year that we can always use help with. It could be helping with our annual House Tour, Open House or History A Blaze to name a few.
